Dato’ Awang Bemee holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from University of Malaya. He is an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Borneo Sarawak. He was appointed to the Board of Ta Ann Holdings Berhad as an Independent Non-Executive Director since 2 October 1999. He is also the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Nomination Committee.

He is the managing partner of Awang, Lai and Co, a legal firm which he set up in 1993. Dato’ Awang Bemee is a member of the Sarawak Advocates Association, the chairman of Kuching Port Authority and a former Sarawak State Council Negeri member.

On 12 February 2009, he was conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (‘DIMP’) award which carries the title ‘Dato’.

He has no family relationship with any director or major shareholder of Ta Ann Holdings Berhad, nor any personal interest in any business arrangement involving the Company.

He attended all five (5) of both the Board meetings and the Audit Committee meetings held in the financial year.
